Shoulder Injuries

At Aligned For Life we employ a range of techniques designed to help treat the shoulder.

The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body but this mobility is achieved by sacrificing stability, which is where many of the problems arise from. The shoulder girdle consists of four joints and is therefore relatively complex compared with others in the body. Consequently there are a multitude of injuries that patients often present with. Listed below are some of the conditions that we routinely treat:

  • Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
  • Impingement syndrome
  • Glenohumeral instability
  • Cervicobrachial traction syndrome
  • Cervical radiculopathy
  • Tendinitis/tendinosis
  • Bursitis
  • Rotator cuff strains
  • Acromioclavicular sprains

After a thorough assessment a tailored made treatment program can be put together which will often consist of a variety of techniques including joint mobilisation, muscle stretching, dry needling, exercise rehabilitation and kinesio taping.
